Warning (Continued)
Ensure that no liquids spill on the
camera. If liquids do spill on the
camera, have it inspected/repaired at
your dealer.
Do not clean or touch the camera
lenses.
Do not use any glass coating agents.
If the vehicle's windshield has to be
replaced, see your dealer to be sure steps
are taken to ensure the proper operation
of the camera. The use of a non-genuine
windshield may affect the LDW warning
or the braking timing of AEB. The
performance of any non-genuine
windshield glass cannot be guaranteed.
If the AEB warning sounds while you are
trying to pass another vehicle, safely
increase your distance from that vehicle;
otherwise AEB may automatically apply
the brakes.
See Interior Care 0 307.
You may hear a noise while AEB is
operating. This is caused by the AEB
controller and does not indicate a
malfunction.
All of the following conditions must be met
for AEB to operate:
The engine control switch is in the "ON"
position.
The AEB OFF switch is not pressed.
The vehicle is moving the forward
direction at a speed of approximately
10 km/h (6 MPH) or higher.
Neither "SYSTEM FAILURE" nor "CAMERA
BLOCKED" is shown in the Driver
Information Center (DIC).
The AEB OFF indicator light is not on.
Conditions in which AEB may not operate:
When driving on sharp curves or
undulating roads
When driving on slippery roads (e.g., icy
or snow-covered)
When pedestrians suddenly run out into
the street
When other vehicles suddenly cut in front
of your vehicle
When obstacles located in the forward
direction are difficult to detect due to bad
weather (rainstorms, blizzards, snow, fog)
When vehicle movement is unstable
(skidding, etc.)
Driving and Operating
When the steering wheel is turned
sharply
When the suspension has been modified
If the headlights are not on (or not
functioning) at night or in a tunnel
If the taillights of the vehicle in front of
your are not on at night or in a tunnel
When a vehicle or pedestrian is outside of
illumination range of the headlights
When receiving strong light (reflective
light such as sunlight or high beams)
from the front
When camera cannot recognize the rear
of the vehicle in front of you (e.g., flat
bed body with no load or no side or rear
gates, a load sticking out, an extremely
low vehicle height, etc.)
When camera's view is narrowed or
partially obscured by snow or other
similar substances, the camera may not
recognize that its field of vision has been
affected; in this situation, the camera
