of a non-genuine windshield may affect
the operation of the Adaptive Cruise
Control.
If the vehicle being followed is extremely
low or is towing a very low trailer (e.g. a
trailer with no load), the rear end of that
vehicle may not be recognized by the
Adaptive Cruise Control system. In this
situation be prepared to press the brake
pedal as necessary to avoid a collision.
Situations where Adaptive Cruise Control
may not Function Properly
The stereo camera system may erroneously
interpret the following conditions as an
object or another vehicle in front of your
vehicle and decelerate or brake your vehicle
unnecessarily:
A parking lot or railroad barrier is
partially (not yet completely) raised up
When driving on a slope on which the
gradient of the road surface changes
drastically
When driving on a slope on which the
gradient of the road surface changes with
repair marks or dirt or shadows of trees
located on the road
When visibility in the forward direction is
poor due to exhaust gas from another
vehicle, splashing water or blowing snow,
water vapor, sand, smoke, etc.
When passing through a cloud of water
vapor or smoke
When passing an oncoming vehicle on a
curve
When there are objects (such as
guardrails, road signs, or a trees) on the
side of the road at an entrance to a curve
In the above situations, stay calm and drive
your vehicle carefully.
Warning
Do not use Adaptive Cruise Control in the
following situations. Doing so may lead
to a collision or crash:
After a temporary repair has been
made using a repair kit for flat tires
When tire chains are installed
When your vehicle is being driven
after a malfunction or a collision or
crash
When the brake system warning light
is on
On a slippery road
