In the event of a fault, the digital display will show the cause.
Take your vehicle as soon as possible to an Authorised Aprilia Dealer.
SERVICE ALARM
If there is a fault on the instrument panel or from the ECU, the instrument panel signals
the fault by displaying the text ALARM SERVICE and the red general icon switches
on.

If there is an immobilizer failure at ignition, the dashboard requests you to enter a user
code. If the code is entered correctly, the instrument panel signals the fault by dis-
playing the message SERVICE and the red general warning icon switches on.
URGENT SERVICE ALARM
A serious fault is signalled by a fast flashing (two flashes per second) of the general
warning icon and by the message ALARM URGENT SERVICE on the digital display.
Take your vehicle as soon as possible to an Authorised Aprilia Dealer. In these cases,
the control unit activates a safety procedure that limits the vehicle performance so that
the rider is able to reach an Authorised Aprilia Dealer at low speed. Depending on
02_17
the type of failure, performance can be limited in three ways: a) by reducing the max-
imum torque produced; b) by keeping the engine at idle speed but slightly accelerated
(during this operation, the throttle control is disabled); c) the engine rpm is steady at
around 3000 rpm; Under these conditions the throttle control provides limited man-
agement of the torque.
