15. Press [Encrypted Transmission]. When you do not
use encryption, go to step 20.
16. Press [On] and select Encryption Key No.
17. To specify the FAX Box of the receiving system,
press [Encryption Box], and go to the next step.
To print originals in the receiving system, select
[Not Use], press [OK], and go to step 20.
18. Press [Use], and enter the encryption FAX Box
number (four digits) using the numeric keys, and
press [OK].
19. Press [OK].
20. If necessary, change the settings for transmission
start speed and ECM communication. Change the
settings after pressing each key ([Transmission
Start Speed]/[ECM]), and press [OK].
21. Check if each item has been entered correctly, and
press [OK].
22. Check if the destination has been set correctly, and
press [Register]. The destination is added to the
Address Book.
Contact registration (i-FAX)
Up to 2,000 contacts can be registered. Contact name, i-
FAX address, transmission mode and the conditions for
the destination machine can be registered for each con-
tact.
1. Press [Edit Destination], [Register/Edit] of Address
Book, [Add], [Contact], and then [Next].
2. Press [Change] of Address Number.
3. Enter the custom address number (0001 to 2,500)
using [+]/[-] or the numeric keys.
4. Press [OK].
5. Press [Change] of Name.
6. Enter the destination name to be displayed on the
Address Book (up to 32 characters), and press
[OK].
7. Press [Address].
8. Select i-FAX using the cursor up/down keys.
9. Press [Change Dest.].
10. Press [i-FAX Address].
11. Enter the destination address (up to 126 charac-
ters) and press [OK].
12. Press the cursor down key of Mode and select Sim-
ple or Full.
13. Press [Destination Condition].
14. Specify the destination conditions and press [OK].

Resolution/Compression/Paper Size
15. Press [OK].
16. Press [OK].
17. Check if the destination has been set correctly, and
press [Register]. The destination is added to the
Address Book.
Group registration
Register several destinations that have been registered
to be contacted as a unit. This method is convenient
because several destinations can be designated at one
time. Up to 500 groups can be registered.
Note: Group registration requires destinations that have
been registered as contact registration. Perform the nec-
essary contact registration in advance.

1. Press [Edit Destination], [Register/Edit] of Address
Book, [Add], [Group], and then [Next].
2. Press [Change] of Address Number.
3. Enter the address number (0001 to 2500) using the
[+]/[-] or numeric keys.
4. Press [OK].
5. Press [Change] of Name.
6. Enter the group name to be displayed on the
Address Book (up to 32 characters), and press
[OK].
7. Press [Group Member].
8. Press [Add].
9. Select the destination (contact) to be registered to
the group.
Note: You can search for destinations by name or
address number.
10. Press [OK].
11. To add a destination, repeat steps 7 to 10.
12. Check that the destination you selected has been
added to the group, and press [Register]. The
group is added to the Address Book.

(8) One-touch Keys

Registering a new One-touch key
Register the destination (contact or group) in the Address
Book to a One-touch key. Up to 100 destinations can be
registered.
1. Press [Edit Destination] and then [Change] of One-
touch Key.
2. Select the One-touch key number to which to regis-
ter the destination (001 to 100). Pressing [No.]
directly selects the One-touch key number.
3. Press [Register/Edit].
4. Select the destination (contact or group) to register
to the One-touch key from the Address Book.
Pressing [Detail] shows the detailed information of
the destination you have selected.
5. Press [OK].
To exit from this setup, press [Close] several times
until the System Menu default screen is displayed.

(9) User login administration

Specify how the user access is administered on the
machine.
Enabling/Disabling user login administration
1. If user login is disabled, the user authentication
screen appears. Enter your login user name and
password and then press [Login].
To log in with administrator privileges.
Initial setting: d-Copia 500MF (d-Copia 300MF / 400MF / 500MF)
d-Copia 3000MF (d-Copia 2500MF / 3000MF)
2. Press [Next] of User Login Setting and then
[Change] of User Login.
3. Select [Local Authentic.] (user authentication based
on user properties on the local user list stored in the
machine) or [Network Authentic.] (user authentica-
tion based on authentication server). Select [Off] to
disable user login administration.
When [Network Authentic.] is selected, enter the
host name (62 characters or less) and domain
name (254 characters or less) for the authentication
