3. Connect the new power adapter to the power adapter connector at the rear of your computer and
a workable electrical outlet.

Removing the slide cover

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
CAUTION:
Before you open the slide cover, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the computer is
cool.
To remove the slide cover, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Unlock any locking device that secures the slide cover.
3. Hold the sides of your computer and gently lay it down so that the slide cover is facing up.
