Problem
Rapid downstroke or upstroke (pump
cavitation).
Material leaks around pump outlet.
Material leaks around bleed port.
Pump will not move up and down.
Leak around pump wet-cup.

Air Motor Troubleshooting

Problem
Air motor stalled
Air continually exhausting around
air motor shaft
Air continually exhausting around
the air valve/slide valve
Air continually exhausting from
muffler while the motor is idle
Oil leaking from exhaust port
Frost build-up on muffler

Cause
Air is trapped in pump.
Downstroke: Dirty or worn pump
intake valve.
Upstroke: Dirty or worn pump piston
valve.
Loose outlet fitting.
Loose bleed port fitting.
Problem with air motor.
Foreign object lodged in pump.
Worn throat seals.
Cause
Main air valve is dirty or damaged
Air motor shaft seal is damaged
Air valve/slide valve gasket is damaged
Internal seal damage
Too much lubricant mixed in with the air
supply
Air motor operating at too high a pres-
sure or cycle rate
Solution
Bleed air from pump. See Prime
System, page 25.
Clean or repair. See Pump Manual.
Clean or repair.
Tighten outlet fitting.
Tighten bleed port fitting.
See Air Motor Manual.
Relieve pressure. See Pump Manual.
Replace throat seals. See pump
manual.
Solution
Clean/rebuild main air valve.
Replace air motor shaft seal.
Replace the valve gasket.
Rebuild air motor.
Reduce lubricant supply.
Reduce air motor pressure, cycle
rate, or duty cycle.
