1. Ensure that the lever is in the open position and the drive mounting rail is pulled halfway out.
2. Orient the assembled 7-mm thick drive (or non-assembled 15-mm thick drive) with the connector at the
bottom side facing the server and align it with the open drive bay.
3. Insert the drive/drive assembly into the drive bay (see Letter A).
Note: Intel recommends holding the drive with one hand while holding the lever with the other hand.
4. Slide the drive/drive assembly forward until the connector is fully engaged with the backplane (see Letter
B).
5. Complete the drive installation by closing the drive extraction lever until it locks into place (see Letter C).
