Circuit Operation Description

4-1. CMOS Board Sub-assembly

The CMOS board sub-assembly consists of a CMOS sub-assembly and CD-762 board. The CD-762 board
drives a CMOS imager using the clock, communication system, and power system signals from a VC-576
board and sends the analog video signal, read from the imager, to the analog front end IC on the VC-576

board.

4-2. VC-576 Board
This VC-576 board includes an image processing system that processes the video signal from a CMOS
imager through analog front end IC, video DSP, and FPGA and sends it to the base block as an LVDS
signal and a control system circuit that is constituted by a VISCA microcomputer and camera microcom-
puter. The VC-576 board also mounts a crystal oscillator that generates the fundamental system clock of
the whole camera operation.
The VC-576 board is connected with the SY-359 board of a base block using a 20-pin coaxial harness.
4-3. DD-316 Board
This DD-316 board mounts a DC/DC converter or series regulator circuit that generates the voltage
power, required for the inside of a camera, from a power voltage of +5.8 V for a camera supplied from a
base block and a driver circuit that drives a lens block.
The DD-316 board is connected with the SY-359 board of a base block using a 22-pin fl exible fl at cable.
4-4. SY-359 Board
This SY-359 board is a board for which almost all functions of a base block were aggregated. It mainly
consists of the following functional blocks:
1. Image processing system
2. Communication control system
3. Motor control system
4. Power block
The outline of each functional block is as described below.
1. Image processing system
The LVDS video signal from a camera block is decoded to parallel data in FPGA, given the processing
such as OSD signal mixing, DNR, and resolution conversion, and output from FPGA. After that, a digital
output signal is converted into a DVI signal using an HDMI/DVI driver circuit. An analog output signal is
converted into a component signal or GBR signal using a three-channel VIDEO DAC circuit. Both the
converted signals are output from the DVI-I connector to the outside.
