After installing Nextel Connection Manager you will have one profile already pre-defined. This will give you quick
and easy access to the Nextel network. In order to use a non-Nextel WiFi network (such as your home or work
network), you will need to add more connections, which you will later add to your profile.
Profiles
The pre-configured profile is named Nextel and contains the following connections. This profile cannot be
changed:
LAN – no specific settings.
Nextel WiFi –By default if a Nextel WiFi network is present, you will see a WiFi signal. Clicking Connect
will prompt you to enter your MyNextel.com member name and password for access.
Nextel – Contains pre-configured details for connecting over iDEN packet data. If you have coverage and
have either an im240 or a Nextel phone connected, you will see a Nextel signal.
CircuitData – Contains Pre-configured settings for connecting over iDEN circuit data network. If you have
coverage the connection will be automatic.
If you click the Connect button when using the default Nextel profile, the software will first attempt to connect you
to a LAN connection, then to a Nextel WiFi HotSpot (if available), and finally to the Nextel wireless network (if
available).
The main user interface screen is shown below.
