Centrifuge Module Interface Operating Instructions
If the robot is below the safety level, Z-up button cannot raise the robot.
Use the hand crank to raise the robot assembly. See Lifting the Robot from
the Hettich Unit ‚ page 72.

Recovering from an E-stop

1. Resolve the problem that led to the E-Stop.

2. If prompted, remove any sample tubes or cassettes from the robot
gripper, see Removing a Sample Tube from the Robot Gripper‚ page 78.
Note Do not select the red Shutdown button. The station is currently
in the red Shutdown state. In the red Shutdown state, the Centrifuge
module retains its current sample tube mapping. Selecting the red
Shutdown button causes the Centrifuge to go into a white Shutdown
state and the Centrifuge module cannot retain the current state of the
samples.
3. Select Offline.
If the station does not go offline, an event condition still exists that you
must resolve.
4. At the Centrifuge Events screen, select the appropriate event.
5. Select Acknowledge.
Acknowledge the event generated from the E-stop. You can
acknowledge the event at the system Events screen or the Event Log
screen for the module.
6. Select Online.
7. If you removed sample tubes from the Centrifuge module, perform the
following steps:
a. Visually inspect the sample tubes and ensure that the spin status on

Inspect the Centrifuge module for jammed or misplaced sample
tubes and cassettes.

• If the spin status on the SIQ screen indicates Spun and the
sample is not completely spun, Centrifuge the sample offline.
• If the spin status on the SIQ screen indicates Unspun and the
sample is spun, select Set Routed for the Centrifuge pre test.
This changes the spin status of the sample to Spun.
• If the spin status is Unspun when sample tube is checked in, it
routes to the Centrifuge module for processing.
