Turning the Centrifuge Module Off
CAUTION
Do not remove power to the Centrifuge module until you verify that no
sample tubes are in the Centrifuge module. If you remove power to the
Centrifuge before all processes are complete, you can not determine the
centrifugation status of the remaining tubes on the system. Be sure to
remove all tubes before removing the power to the system.

If you need to shut down the power to the Centrifuge module, for example
for a scheduled power outage in the lab or if instructed by your technical
support person, perform the following steps:
Note You do not normally need to turn off power from the Centrifuge
module. You can perform most cleaning and maintenance tasks while the
module is in the shutdown state without ever turning off the power.
1. Shut down the Centrifuge module:
a. At the LineMaster workspace, select Centrifuge.
b. Select Shutdown.
c. Respond to the prompt to remove sample tubes from the
2. At the Centrifuge module, turn the drive unit off.
3. Turn the robot computer off.
4. Turn the interface computer off.
5. Turn the UPS off.
If necessary, remove all sample tubes from the Hettich unit.

If there is more than 1 Centrifuge connected to the automation
system, select the name of the Centrifuge module to shut down.
A transition to shutdown message displays.
Centrifuge module:
•
To complete processing of the samples currently inside the
Centrifuge module before it shuts down, select Yes.
The Shutdown button turns blue-green to indicate that the
system is processing sample tubes.

To manually remove samples, select No.
If centrifugation is in progress, the spin completes before the
Centrifuge module shuts down.
