CAMSHAFT CAM HEIGHT
Measure the cam height of the camshaft.
STANDARD:
IN: 27.600 - 27.800 mm (1.0866 - 1.0945 in)
EX: 27.647 - 27.847 mm (1.0885 - 1.0963 in)
SERVICE LIMIT:
IN: 27.45 mm (1.081 in)
EX: 27.50 mm (1.083 in)
If the measurement is less than the service limit,
replace the camshaft (page 15-4).
CAMSHAFT O.D.
Measure the camshaft O.D. of the camshaft.
STANDARD: 13.966 - 13.984 mm
(0.5498 - 0.5506 in)
SERVICE LIMIT: 13.916 mm (0.5479 in)
If the measurement is less than the service limit,
replace the camshaft (page 15-4).
DECOMPRESSOR WEIGHT
Check for worn and weakened the weight return spring
(1).
If the spring is worn or weakened, replace the spring.
Check that the decompressor weight moves smoothly.
If the decompressor weight does not move correctly,
replace the camshaft (page 15-4).
RADIAL BALL BEARING
Clean the bearing with solvent and dry it thoroughly.
Turn the inner race of the radial ball bearing with your
finger and check for play.
Replace the radial ball bearing if it is noisy or has
excessive play.
