GENERAL MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Pitot/Static Leak Test
Before starting the pitot static test, allow the GDC to operate at least 15 minutes according to
Garmin Service Advisory 0608. Perform a pitot/static leak test as described in Title 14 CFR §§
91.411 and Part 43 Appendix E.
Altimeter (GDC and PFD)
According to Part 43 Appendix E, paragraph (b)(2), Garmin specifies a test procedure equivalent
to Part 43 Appendix E, paragraph (b)(1) with two exceptions. The tests of sub‐paragraphs (iv;
Friction) and (vi; Barometric Scale Error) are not applicable because the digital outputs of the
GDC are not susceptible to these types of errors.
Airspeed Function Test (GDC and PFD)
Check for correct indication.
Vertical Speed Indicator (GDC and PFD)
