Troubleshooting

This section may help you isolate the problem. Should
the problem persist, unplug the unit and contact your
Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.
Symptom
No picture
If neither the POWER
indicator nor POWER
SAVING indicator is lit
If the POWER SAVING
indicator is lit
If the POWER SAVING Indicator blinks
without the picture displayed
If on-screen menus do not appear
If the color display is non-uniform
If white does not look white
If the screen is too bright and the
contrast in the light area is weakened
If picture bounces or has wavy
oscillations
If the picture is greenish or pinkish
(magenta)
If the picture is tilted

Check these items
Check that the power cord is properly connected.
Check that the power switch is set to ON.
• Check the power switch on the video equipment connected to the monitor is set
to ON.
• Check the input signal and select the corresponding input channel pressing the
LINE A/B or RGB/COMPONENT A/B select buttons.
When the monitor detects the abnormal state, the monitor automatically stops
operation and makes the POWER SAVING indicator blinks.
Turn the monitor power off once, and turn the power on again after about five
minutes. If the POWER SAVING indicator still blinks, unplug the monitor and
contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.
REMOTE (FRONT LOCK) mode is selected on the REMOTE (RS-232C) menu.

Trip the power switch once to activate auto-degauss cycle. This function is to
demagnetize the CRT to obtain a neutral field for uniform color reproduction. If a
seconds degauss cycle is needed, allow a minimum interval of 20 minutes for the
best result. Or adjust the landing beam on the LANDING menu.

Perform color temperature adjustment.
For details, see "To adjust the white balance" on page 26.
Terminate the unit to which the cable connected to the loop-through output
connectors on the monitor is connected. This monitor is 75-ohm terminated.
However, when you connect the cable to the loop-through output connectors and
do not connect the other side of the cable, loop-through output connector on the
monitor is unterminated.
Select the appropriate sync signal on the RGB SYSTEM menu.

When the picture is greenish: RGB is designated on the RGB SYSTEM menu.
Select COMP on the RGB SYSTEM menu.
When the picture is pinkish (magenta): COMP is designated on the RGB
SYSTEM menu. Select RGB on the RGB SYSTEM menu.

Adjust the landing on the LANDING menu.
