Electric Shock Hazards
The generator produces enough electric pow er to cause a serious
shock or electrocution if m isused.
Using a generator or electrical appliance in w et conditions, such as
rain or snow , or near a pool or sprinkler system , or w hen your hands
are w et, could result in electrocution. Keep the generator dry.
If the generator is stored outdoors, unprotected from the w eather,
check all of the electrical com ponents on the control panel before
each use. M oisture or ice can cause a m alfunction or short circuit in
electrical com ponents that could result in electrocution.
Do not connect to a building's electrical system unless an isolation
sw itch has been installed by a qualified electrician.
Fire and Burn Hazards
The exhaust system gets hot enough to ignite som e m aterials.
Keep the generator at least 3 feet (1 m eter) aw ay from buildings
and other equipm ent during operation.
Do not enclose the generator in any structure.
Keep flam m able m aterials aw ay from the generator.
The m uffler becom es very hot during operation and rem ains hot for
a w hile after stopping the engine. Be careful not to touch the m uffler
w hile it is hot. Let the engine cool before storing the generator
indoors.
Gasoline is extrem ely flam m able and is explosive under certain
conditions. Do not sm oke or allow flam es or sparks w here the
generator is refueled or w here gasoline is stored. Refuel in a w ell-
ventilated area w ith the engine stopped.
Fuel vapors are extrem ely flam m able and m ay ignite after the
engine has started. M ake sure that any spilled fuel has been w iped
up before starting the generator.
