Outside Line Calling

Outside dialing may be accomplished by various methods using your PS6
Portable Station. These include the following which are programmed by your
system administrator:
• Direct Outside Line Access
• Outside Line Group Access
• Optimized Routing Access
• Dialing an Outside Line Access Code.
One or more of the Multipurpose Keys on the PS6 Portable Station may be
programmed for one-touch outside line access.
1. Press the desired Outside Line, Outside Line Group, or Optimized Routing
Access Key ([LINE], [OUT], [FLT]), or dial an Outside Line Access Code
followed by the [SEND] key. The outside line key flashes green.
2. Dial the phone number.
3. When the outside party answers begin speaking.
4. Press [End] when finished and place the portable unit in the charger.

Placing an Outside Line Call

1. Lift the Portable Station from the charger and press [Send]. The [Send] key
flashes green and LCD displays 'ICM'
2. Press a line key (see Figure 1) and wait for the dial tone. The line key
flashes green and LCD displays 'Optimized'.
3. Dial the phone number you wish to call. In a moment, you will hear the
phone begin to ring your desired number. The LCD displays the outside
line number you are using as well as the number you have dialed. Once the
called party answers, the LCD displays the elapsed time of your ongoing
call.
4. When you finish your call, press [End] and place the Portable Station back
into the charger.
