Audio (digital or analog) selection
You can select either digital audio or analog audio for DVD, CD,
VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2, VIDEO 3, or TAPE input. The default setting
is ANALOG. Change the setting according to the connection and
playback source.
Assume that you have connected a DVD player to the COAXIAL 1
connector.
1. Use the INPUT button to select "DVD."
2. Press the DIGITAL/ANALOG button to set digital input.
"DGTL/ANLG SETUP" appears, followed by the current set-
ting ("DVD =" OPT, COAX1, COAX2, or ANALOG).
3. Press "PRESET/MODE ADJ √ / ® " to select COAX1.
4. Press the ENTER/SCAN button.
"INPUT FORMAT" appears, followed by the current setting
("FORMAT =" DIGITAL, or ANALOG).
5. Press "PRESET/MODE ADJ √ / ® " to select DIGITAL.
6. Press the ENTER/SCAN button.
Tip:
You may play analog audio while digital input is selected if you
select "ANALOG" in Step 5.
Note:
You cannot select "FORMAT" as described in Step 4 if you
select "ANALOG" in Step 3.
If you wish to listen to analog sound, select "ANALOG" in Step
5. (Digital input remains assigned.)
You can assign digital input to DVD, VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2,
VIDEO 3, TAPE, and CD.
Even when the digital inputs are used, the analog connecting cables
must be left in place. Otherwise, the audio output from TAPE OUT
and VIDEO 1 will not work. (See page 7.)
Warning:
Do not play CD-ROM discs that contain computer data as they
may damage the speakers when the sound is amplified by the
receiver.
