Security Features
Entering a Power-on Password
To enter the Power-on Password:
1. Turn on the workstation.
2. When the key icon (

NOTE: Type carefully; for security reasons, the characters you type do not
appear on the screen. If you enter the password incorrectly, a broken key icon (

Changing a Power-on Password
To change the Power-on Password:
1.
Turn on the workstation. (If the workstation is already on, you must turn
it off and then on again.)

slash (/) or alternate delimiter character, your new password, another
slash(/) or alternate delimiter character, and your new password:
current password/new password/new password
NOTE: Type carefully; for security reasons, the characters you type do not
appear on the screen. See the "National Keyboard Delimiter Characters"
section in this chapter for information about the alternate delimiter characters.
Completing this procedure causes the new password to take effect the next time
you turn on the workstation.
