Possible Cause
RTC (real-time clock) battery
may need to be replaced.
Battery life is approximately 5
years.
Expansion board bracket may
not be seated properly.
The unit temperature was
exceeded. The fan may be
blocked.

Possible Solution
Replace the RTC battery.
See Appendix E,
"Installing a New
Battery," for installation
instructions, or contact
your Compaq authorized
reseller or service
provider for RTC battery
replacement.
If the LED is a steady
amber color instead of
green, reseat the
expansion board bracket.
When the LED is a steady
green color, the
expansion cage board is
seated properly.
Unit is in an exceedingly
hot environment. Let it
cool down.
Be sure internal cables
are not blocking the air
intake of the power
supply.
Contact your Compaq
authorized reseller or
service provider.
