Using a Power-on Password

A power-on password
Prevents unauthorized use of the computer. Once set, it must
be entered each time the computer is turned on or restored
from Hibernation.
Enables you to use Quick Controls.
Is not case sensitive, can be the same as any other 7-character
password, and can include up to 7 alphanumeric characters. It
cannot include a forward slash ("/").

Setting, Changing, or Deleting a Power-on Password

A power-on password
Can be set, changed, or deleted in Computer Setup.
Can be set in Compaq Computer Security, but must be
changed or deleted in Computer Setup or at the power-on
password prompt.

1. Turn on or restart the computer, then press
