Thoroughly clean the thermal material from the surfaces of the solid-state drive shield and the bottom
cover each time the bottom cover is removed. The thermal pad is available in the Miscellaneous Kit, spare
part number N15290-001. The following illustration shows the replacement thermal material locations.
A thermal pad is used on the solid-state drive shield (1) and the bottom cover area (2) that services it.
To replace the bottom cover, reverse the removal procedure.
Battery
To remove the battery, use this procedure and illustration.

Do not compress or squeeze the battery case with tools or heavy objects stacked on top of the case. These

actions can apply undue force on the battery.
Do not touch the connectors with any metallic surface or object, such as metal tools, screws, or coins,

which can cause shorting across the connectors.
