5 Thread the bottom bolt into the damper shaft 2-3 turns.
Remove the rebound damper and seal head.

Clean the inside and outside of the upper tube.
Inspect the inside and outside of the upper tube for scratches.
Scratches on the inside surface of the upper tube can cause oil to leak.
If an internal scratch is visible, the crown steerer upper tube assembly
may need to be replaced.
