When do you perform the firmware update?
After functional upgrades or troubleshooting, you should transfer the latest firmware version
in each case to the device (perform firmware update)

Redundant components
For redundant components, perform the firmware update in such a way that both Compact FF
Links are operated with the same firmware version in process mode.
Observe this for the bus link with two Compact FF Links, in particular, when you replace one
of the Compact FF Links.

Restoring a Compact FF Link FF to the factory state

Information on the operating states of the Compact FF Link indicated with the LED displays
can be found in section LEDs of the Compact FF Link (Page 57).
Procedure
Proceed as follows to restore a Compact FF Link to its factory settings:
1. Set up a connection from
2. Select the Restore default state menu command.
The parameters stored in the Compact FF Link flash memory are deleted and the cyclic FF
communication is stopped. On redundant stations, both Compact FF Links are reset.
OR
1. Switch off the power supply for the Compact FF Link.
2. Set the PROFIBUS address "0".
3. Switch on the power supply for the Compact FF Link.
The Compact FF Link is restored to it factory settings.
4. Switch off the power supply.
