Installing the Compact FF Link for redundancy mode

Introduction
The following configuration variants of the bus link with 2 Compact FF Links are possible for
use of FF Link Master redundancy:
● Configuration with coupler redundancy
See Redundant connection and coupler redundancy on the FOUNDATION Fieldbus
(Page 21)
● Configuration with ring redundancy
See Redundant connection and ring redundancy on the FOUNDATION Fieldbus
(Page 23)
Configuration with bus module
For redundancy mode the Compact FF Links must be installed with the mounting rail "for
module switching during runtime" and active BM Compact FF Link bus module.
Components required
● Mounting rail "for module switching during runtime"
● 2 x Compact FF Links (redundant coupler pair)
● BM Compact FF Link
NOTICE
Compact FF Link and associated bus module
The Compact FF Link may only be operated with the "BM Compact FF Link" bus module.
● These components must not be operated in combination with other modules/bus modules.
● The use of a bus connector is not permitted.
Failure to observe this information may result in irreparable electrical damage to the utilized
components!
Basic installation steps
Carry out the following installation steps in the order given:
1. Install the mounting rail
2. Install the bus module and modules
