2.2.2.3 Checking the Version
1) Press the following keys in the indicated order to
start service mode:
 > 2 > 8 >
2) Using the [
] or [
then, press [OK].
3) Using the [
] or [
of "MAIN(System)", "MAIN2(BOOT)", and
"OPROM(Option ROM)".
If the versions of the firmware are not the same, or 
not the latest, be sure to update them with the SST.
(For the procedure of the version upgrade, refer to
Service Manual.)
2.2.2.4 Checking the Connection
When you have installed the kit, go through the
following to make sure that it is properly recognized:
1) Press the following keys in the indicated order to
start service mode:
 > 2 > 8 >
2) Using the [
] or [
[#REPORT]; then, press [OK].
3) Using the [
] or [
[#REPORT]; then, press [OK].
4) Using the [
] or [
LIST]; then, press [OK] to print out the
specifications list.
5) Check the following items in the output "SPEC
REPORT".
- "PCL" is set to "ON".
- "OPTION ROM" is set to "32MB".
2.2.2.5 Registering TYPE
MEMO:
If you are installing the 32MB ROM at the same time
as the host machine, the following work is not
necessary.
1) Press the following keys in the indicated order to
start service mode:
 > 2 > 8 >

3) Using the [
] or [
then, press [OK].
4) Using [
] or [
], select the type to suit the
country/zone in question.
5) Press [OK], the message "Please wait" goes off to
indicate that the selected type has been saved.
2.2.2.6 Importing the User Data
MEMO:
If you are installing the 32MB ROM at the same time
as the host machine, the following work is not
necessary.
1) Press the following keys in the indicated order to
start service mode:
 > 2 > 8 >
2) Using the [
] or [
[#SYSTEM]; then, press [OK].
3) Using the [
] or [
[#SYSTEM]; then, press [OK].
4) Press the following keys in the indicated sequence
so that 'SW003' appears.
# > 0 > 3
Indication: #SYSTEM SW003 00001000
5) Check to see that the 6th bit (2nd from left) is '1'.
Otherwise, use [
cursor to the 6th bit, and press the key 1 to enter 
'1'.
6) Press [OK] to be sure that the indication has
changed from 'SW003' to 'SW004'.
Indication: #SYSTEM SW004 00000000
7) Press the Reset key to end service mode.
8) Turn off and then on the machine's main power 
switch.
9) Connect the machine and the PC using a USB
cable.
10) Open My Computer on the PC, and check to be
sure that 'Removable Disk' is indicated.
11) Write the user data (address_book.abk and
user_data.dat, i.e., you have copied as part of 
"Copying the User Data") found on the PC
desktop over 'Removable Disk'.
12) Disconnect the USB cable from the machine.
13) Turn off and then on the machine's main power 
switch.
14) Repeat steps 1) through 4) to change the 6th bit
of 'SW003' from '1' to '0'.
15) Press [OK]. When the indication has changed
from 'SW003' to 'SW004', press the Reset key to
end service mode.
16) Using the printed user data list, check to be sure
that the user data has correctly been imported.
