Troubleshooting Guide II

Note 1: In case of using a plastic tank, make sure that the strainer does not position
above its fuel level. In case of the large size tank, make sure the valve is left
"Open". And also make sure tightened, the insert cap nut (on the suction side
of fuel pump) is unloosen.
Note 2: If the fuel is contaminated with water, the user seems to initially report in such
an expression as "My heater sometimes causes self-extinction." If this occurs,
it is necessary to inspect all piping lines including fuel tank and strainer.
Note 3: Make sure also that the flame rod is in proper connection. The flame rod should
also be free of soot and kept away from the metallic part of the burner.
Note 4: Adjust the fuel flow in accordance with item 5-4 (2).
Note 5: In the event that there is no flame found in the burner, the fuel pump probably
cannot pump up the fuel which has been plugged with microsize dust or to the
plunger lock which has been caused with water contamination in the fuel. If this
pump is assumed to have trouble, replace the whole unit with a new one.
[HOW TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP]
This replacement can be performed with the
heater as being installed.
1. Unscrew each four (4) "A" and "C"
screws and remove the three
panels (front, rear and bottom).
2. Unscrew and remove the two "D"
hexagonal bolts which are used to
assemble the pump to the heater
unit.
3. Remove the two (2) "E" screws, so
the cabinet "B" can be removed.
One of the two hexagonal bolts
should be left engaged with the cabinet, in
order to prevent the unit under repair from
falling off.
