Section 5: Component Specifications and Adjustments

5-1.

Main Circuit Board

When a malfunction or defect in the main circuit board is suspected, first check the
connectors. Check this point first of all, especially if the exact cause cannot be
determined.
5-2.

Igniter

(1) Specification: 1.8 Ω ± 10%
(2) The input voltage to the igniter is adjusted by the microprocessor within the range
between 11 and 11.5V.
(3) Be careful to mount the igniter in the proper position.
(4) When the coil part of the igniter is deformed, correct it to the original shape. A
contact among coil lines will cause the coil line to break due to excessive current.
(5) The flue gas could leak through a crack of the ceramic part of the igniter and/or a
deteriorated igniter gasket and flow into the circulating hot air. This will lead to a very
strong odor.
5-3.

Burner Thermistor

The burner thermistor senses the temperature of the burner. When it detects an
accidental reduction of the burner temperature, the heater stops its operation.
(1) The burner thermistor is designed to start its function at over 30 KΩ approx. 22
minutes after the combustion starts.
(2) Characteristic:
Burner Temperature: Resistance
250°C (482°F):
300°C (572°F):
B constance:
(3) The lead wire (white covered part) is made of glass and is fragile. Be careful not to
bend or twist it.
