Figure 001-20: Brew Unit Switches

When the brew unit is activated but one of the switches does not switch on
within 10 seconds, fault F 73 will be displayed.
Cause:
Brew unit blocked.
Remedy:
1. Switch the appliance off via the on/off switch.
2. Locate and remove any foreign objects.
3. Clean the affected components.
Cause:
The plug on the wiring harness is not seated correctly. If the plug is loose,
this can cause a brief power interruption.
Remedy:
Bend the plug back, if necessary, and reconnect it. Make sure that it is seated
securely.
Cause:
Brew unit position switch (S60-1 / S60-2) defective or its wires short-circuited.
Remedy:
1. Check switch wiring.
2. Replace wiring, if necessary.
3. Check the brew unit position switches in service mode; see Section 001-
4.4.
4. Brew unit position switch electrically defective: Replace the switch.
5. Brew unit position switch mechanically defective (drive cam worn away):
Replace the drive cam.
6. If the drive cam is not accessible, then replace the brew unit drive; see
Section 001-4.21.
Cause:
Brew unit drive defective.
Remedy:
1. In service mode, without the brew unit installed, initialize the brew unit;
see Section 001-4.4.
2. If initialization is not possible, then replace the brew unit drive; see
Section 001-4.21.
