Battery Maintenance
The Battery Maintenance function makes it possible to eliminate
any reductions in autonomy of the Nickel-Metal-Hydrate battery due
to the phenomenon generally known as Memory effect.
Cancellation of the memory effect is obtained with fast complete
discharge of the battery.
Always start the battery Maintenance function after connecting the connector
NOTE
to the PHD-4.
The Battery Maintenance function causes maximum absorption of
current through switching on of the heater at maximum temperature
and of the sampling pump at maximum speed.
During the discharge phase, the flow inversion valve is active.
If the PHD-4 is exposed to high concentrations of Helium during discharge, the
NOTE
battery Maintenance function is interrupted in order to protect the sensor
element from saturation.
