4.2.2. Connecting LAN cables to the unit

Bottom housing and RJ45 LAN cables

IMPORTANT
The FM3200 Base is ingress-protection rated to standards
specified by EN 50155 and EN 45545.
To ensure the FM3200 Base remains waterproof and
dustproof, follow all instructions in this section. Following the
instructions in this section will also ensure that the is well
prepared for any ingress-protection testing.
When the Cisco FM3200 Base is mounted in its final location, connect the
unit to LAN connection(s) and a PoE power supply by doing the following
steps:
1.
Only use shielded CAT5/6 cables that terminate in RJ45 Ethernet
connectors at both ends.
2.
Make sure that the terminal pin assignments for the RJ45 plugs
comply with the accepted standard for RJ45 LAN/PoE
connectors.
Next, proceed to the steps in the following table:
3. Remove the two screws from the
bottom housing.
4. Separate the bottom housing from the
main body of the unit.

5. Route the LAN cables through the hexagon
nut, then through the rubber seal, then through
the cable gland nut.
