Needles

Your machine comes with HAx1
(130/705H) needles.
Common stitch problems can often be
traced directly to the needle.
Needle inserted incorrectly.
(Flat side should be to the back.)
Needle not pushed up high enough
into position.
Needle is dull or has burrs.
(Change needles frequently; even
new needles can have imperfections.)

Changing the Needle(s)

1. Switch OFF the machine. Turn the
flywheel toward you to raise the
needle(s) to their highest position.
Lower the presser foot.
2. Each needle position has a set screw.
Hold the needle and using the hexagon
wrench, turn the needle clamp screw
counterclockwise to loosen. Remove
needle.
3. Insert needle with flat side to the back,
pushing it up as far as it will go.
4. Tighten set screw.
NOTE:
Needles will always sit unevenly with the
left needle always higher than the right.
If needles are even, loosen set screws
and reinsert needles.
