management device (workstation or personal computer) and the system. It also contains information about port connection

3.1 Requirements

Workstations running Windows 2000/XP, 2003, Vista/7/8, 2008, MAC OS9 or later, Linux, UNIX or other platforms
are compatible with TCP/IP protocols.

Workstation is installed with Ethernet NIC (Network Interface Card)

Ethernet Port connection
 Network cables -- Use standard network (UTP) cables with RJ45 connectors.

The above Workstation is installed with WEB Browser and JAVA runtime environment Plug-in
It is recommended to use Internet Explore 8.0 or above to access Managed Switch.
3.2 Management Access Overview
The Managed Switch gives you the flexibility to access and manage it using any or all of the following methods:

Web browser interface

An external SNMP-based network management application
The Web browser interface support are embedded in the Managed Switch software and are available for immediate use. Each
of these management methods has their own advantages. Table 3-1 compares the three management methods.
