The remote engine start module must be removed or the installer must properly reinstall the remote engine start system so that the vehicle does not start in gear. All installations must be performed by an authorized dealer.
  • Page 13: Passive Arming

passive arming The system can be programmed to arm itself automatically (called pas- sive arming). If the system is programmed for passive arming, it will automatically arm 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off and the system detects that you have left the vehicle by opening and closing a door.

The optional starter kill prevents the vehicle’s starter from cranking. remote sensor bypass Remote Sensor Bypass allows you to select which of the system's inputs or sensors will be active and which will be bypassed when the system is armed.

  • Page 21: Override Take-Over

override take-over The override take-over feature allows the vehicle to remain running after the key has been removed from the ignition. This feature is useful for occasions when you wish to exit and lock the vehicle for short peri- ods of time, but would like to leave the motor running and the climate controls on.
  • Page 22: Short-Run/Turbo

short-run/turbo Short run turbo mode keeps the engine running after arriving at you destination for a programmable period of 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes. This allows the system’s timer to conveniently cool down the turbo after you have left the vehicle. To activate: Park the vehicle and set parking brake.

  • Page 25: False Alarm Prevention Circuitry

false alarm prevention circuitry Your system has false alarm prevention circuitry. It prevents annoying repetitive trigger sequences due to faulty door pin switches or environ- mental conditions such as thunder, jackhammers, airport noise, etc. Example If the alarm triggers three times within a 60-minute period and each time the same sensor or switch triggers the alarm, false alarm preven- tion circuitry will interpret those triggers as false alarms.
  • Page 26: Diagnostics

diagnostics The microprocessor at the heart of your system is constantly monitoring all of the switches and sensors connected to it. It is designed to detect any faulty switches and sensors and prevents them from disabling the entire system. The microprocessor will also record and report any trig- gers that occurred during your absence.
  • Page 27: System Status Chirps

security system was triggered in your absence. If five chirps are heard when disarming the system, a zone was triggered so many times that the false alarm prevention circuitry has bypassed that zone. In either case, the status LED will indicate which zone was involved (see Table of Zones section).

  • Page 29: Anti-Code Grabbing

anti-code grabbing The receiver and remotes use a mathematical formula called an algo- rithm to change their code each time the remote is used. This technol- ogy has been developed to increase the security of the unit. The control unit knows what the next codes should be. This helps to keep the remote “in sync”...

program many of the system settings. The programmer makes it possi- ble to program different settings for each remote that is used with the system. Then, whenever a specific remote is used, the system will recall the settings assigned to that remote. Individual recognition lets up to four users of the system have different settings that meet their specif- ic needs.
  • Page 31: Power Saver Mode

power saver mode Your system will automatically enter Power Saver Mode while armed or in override mode, after a period of time in which no operation has been performed. This lowers the current draw on the vehicle's battery. Power Saver Mode takes over under the following conditions: Power Saver when the system is armed: After the system has been armed for 24 hours the LED will flash at half its normal rate, decreasing the system's current draw.

The ignition controlled door lock feature on or off: When this feature is programmed on, the doors will lock three seconds after the ignition is turned on, and unlock when the ignition is turned off. If your installer is programming the security system with the Pro Security Programmer, ignition lock and unlock are independent features that can be programmed separately.

The audio sensor uses a microphone to pick up sounds, then analyzes them with proprietary acoustic software to determine if the glass has been struck.
