attempt to start the engine again,
or use jumper cables:

The starting attempt is automati-
cally interrupted if battery voltage
is too low.
Pre-Ride-Check
When the ignition is switched on,
the instrument cluster performs a
test routine on the indicator and
warning lights - this is the "Pre-
Ride-Check." Starting the engine
before the test routine is com-
pleted will cancel the remainder
of the routine.
Phase 1
All indicator and warning lights
are switched on.

Phase 2
The universal warning light
changes from red to yellow.
Phase 3
The previously activated indica-

tor and warning lights are now
switched off consecutively in re-
verse order.
If one of the indicator and warn-
ing lights did not turn on:
Have the malfunction corrected
as soon as possible at an
authorized service facility,
preferably an authorized
BMW Motorrad Retailer.
ABS self-diagnosis
The self-diagnosis routine checks
whether the BMW Motorrad In-
tegral ABS is ready for opera-
tion. The self-diagnosis routine
launches automatically when you
switch on the ignition.
Phase 1
Check on system components
monitored by diagnostic sys-
tem while motorcycle is parked.
ABS indicator light flashes.
Phase 2
Check wheel sensors while
starting off.
ABS indicator light flashes.
ABS self-diagnosis
completed
ABS warning light goes out.
