displayed settings. The ESA
display flashes during the ad-
justment routine.
At low temperatures, unload
the motorcycles before increas-
ing the spring preload, and
have the passenger dismount if
necessary.

Use of the riding modes

ter "Technology in Detail".
BMW Motorrad has developed
3 riding scenarios for your motor-
cycle from which you can select
the one matching your situation:
Riding on wet roads.
Riding on dry roads.
with Pro riding modes
Sporty riding on dry roads.
For each of those 3 scenarios,
the optimum balance between
engine torque, throttle response,
control and ASC/DTC control for
the situation concerned is pro-
vided.
Setting riding mode
Switch on ignition (
Press button 1.
