Remove screw 1 and
washer 2.
Turn muffler 3 counterclock-
wise.

Mounting muffler
ATTENTION
Tightening of screwed con-
nections with incorrect tight-
ening torque
Damage or loosening of screwed
connections
Always have the tightening
torques checked by a spe-
cialized workshop, preferably
an authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Turn muffler 3 clockwise until
it rests on passenger footpeg
bracket.
Install screw 1 and washer 2.
Muffler on rear frame
14 lb/ft (19 Nm)
Tighten nut 1 of clamp 2.
Clamp on muffler and
exhaust manifold
16 lb/ft (22 Nm)
