Style, Fill, or Color
After selecting an object, edit the style, fill, or color by
selecting the "Style", "Fill", or "Draw Color" menu function.
The same dialog boxes appear that are used to set the current
line style, fill, or color (pages 3-6 and 3-7).
These edit functions apply to selected draw objects only. To
edit the style, fill, or color of text, see "Editing Text", below.
Editing Text
To edit existing text, select the text object, then select the
"Place" function from the "Text" menu (page 3-6). The "Edit
Text" dialog box is displayed with the current text. Edit the
text and select "OK".
To change the font style, size, or color of existing text, select
the text object, then select the "Style", "Fill", or "Draw Color"
menu function, or select "Font" from the "Text" menu. Any of
these selections brings up the same WIndows Fonts dialog box
as used to set the current font style, page 3-6. Choose the new
font style, color, or size from the dialog box. Only the selected
text changes to the new font style, color, and size.
Editing Groups of Objects
Existing objects can be edited as a group. When a group of
objects is selected, the group is edited in the same manner as
individual objects (for move, scale, copy, rotate, style, fill, and
color editing).
Some editing functions do not apply to all objects in a group.
- Text and bitmap objects cannot be scaled or rotated, ellipses
cannot be rotated, and arcs may not act as expected. These
objects are moved relative to the group of objects if scaled
or rotated, but some editing of each individual object may
be required to achieve the desired results.
- Text (text wording or font style, size, or color) cannot be
edited within a group.
- Object to Front and Object to Back changes cannot be
performed on a group of objects.
Delete
To erase or delete an object or line, select the object to delete,
then select the "Delete" function from the Edit menu, or press
the Delete button on the keyboard.
Cancel and Undo
To cancel any editing operation, click the right mouse button
before the edit action is completed. The object then returns to
its prior state.
The state of the image data before the last drawing, editing, or
image change is stored in an "undo" buffer. To undo an
editing action, select Undo from the Edit menu, or press F9.

EXITING EXCALIBUR CAD PROGRAM

To exit the Excalibur CAD program select the Exit command
from the File menu (page 3-3).
The Exit function checks to determine if the operator has saved
all updates to the files. If any change has been made to either
the map image or the icons on the current screen, a warning
message, illustrated below, is displayed prompting the user to
save the changes before exiting.
A separate message is displayed for saving changes to the
.MAP file and for saving changes to the .ICN file.
If the user attempts to Exit without entering a description for
the current map image, a message is displayed prompting the
user to enter a Description (Description Menu, page 3-11). If
the user selects "Cancel" at this message, the map will be
saved with no description entered.
Note: When new map images have been created, they must be
entered into the display sequence for proper operation of the
Excalibur SE system. After new maps have been saved in
the data directory, the Excalibur SE System Setup program,
page 6, must be executed to update the map sequence, via
the Maps function (page 2-7).
