Text Menu
This pull-down menu allows the user to select text fonts and
place text into the image, and to edit existing text. To edit
existing text, select the text to be changed, then select the Text
menu entry to edit the text or select Font to change the font
size, color, or style. For further information on editing text
objects, see Editing Objects, page 3-12.
The "Text" pull-down menu provides two selections:
Place - allows the user to enter and place text on the
drawing.
Font... - allows the user to select the font style, size, and
color of the text font.
Place
When "Place" is selected, a text entry dialog box, illustrated
below, is displayed.
Using the keyboard, type a single line of text of a maximum of
24 characters. To place the text onto the map image, press the
keyboard Enter key or select the "OK" button on the dialog
box. To cancel the text entry, select the "Cancel" button.
After the text has been entered from this box, an outline of the
text message is displayed on the map image. Move this outline
box to the desired text position with the mouse. When the text
outline has been placed as desired, click the left mouse button
to lock it at that position. The text is then displayed at that
location, in the current font, size, and color. To cancel the
operation, press the right mouse button.
Font
The current font, size, and color may be changed by selecting
"Font" from the menu. A standard Windows Font dialog box
is displayed for font style, size, and color selection. This
selection becomes the current font style, size, and color for text
until changed again.
The current text font is shown in an informational window at
the bottom of the CAD screen (see page 3-11).
Style Menu
This menu item is used to select the current line style and
thickness for drawing, and to edit existing objects. To edit an
existing object, select on the object, then select the Style menu
to change the line style or thickness of that object. For further
information on editing line style, refer to Editing Objects, page
3-12.
When "Style" is selected, a Line Style dialog box is displayed.
Line Thickness may be set from 0 to 20 for solid lines. Click
the mouse button on the arrows at the right of the Line
Thickness box to scroll through the values. All other lines are
set to the thinnest value (0) only.
Select one of the line and object outline drawing styles by
selecting one of the buttons to the left of the line samples.
Solid - solid lines and solid outlines.
Dash - dashed lines and dashed outlines.
Dot - dotted lines and dotted outlines.
DashDot - dash-dot-dash for lines and outlines
DashDotDot - dash-dot-dot for lines and outlines.
The line sample displayed in each line selection box shows the
appearance of that line when the display image is at the
"default" 640 X 400 display area. Lines appear thicker for
"Zoomed in" images.
The current line style and thickness is displayed in a window at
the bottom of the CAD screen (page 3-11).
