8.1 quick mix mode guide:

Mix mode confused me the first time I used it, so here are the general hints I use:
1. In the normal MIX menu, click on any SELECT button to select a mix channel. (1-8, use
the shift button to get to 9-16.)
2. Click soft button 6. Now use the bank buttons, and the program number / group buttons
to select a patch. Set the MIDI channel with soft knob six, and any tuning options here.
3. Click soft button 5, KYBD, and select the range with soft knob one and two.
That' s it! Pretty simple, isn' t it? Most of the program settings (including sequencer settings!)
get copied over.
Here are the exceptions that are separated with the mix:
1. All effects settings are per mix only, independent of what is actually in the patches.
2. Post filter mix and pre filter mix have a separate mix modulation that is avaliable for all
parameters. This allows you to alter all the filter / oscillator levels at once, with either
offsets or modulations.
3. As of OS 1.40, the sequencer settings START/STOP and SYNC/STPSIZ can be set in the
mix independently of the patch settings.
4. Remember, you have 16 edit buffers. So all your mixes can be edited, flipping back and
forth per patch! Great for live work.
5. Click soft button 8 to SOLO a patch if needed.
Justin' s Mix Mode tutorial:
and that's exactly how you create a user mix program.
anyway.
hit "mix" on the front panel. this will load up the mix screen
hit "store" and select the first user slot. select banks by using the bank "<" and ">" buttons to get
to the user bank.
hit the soft button for name to rename it to your liking
then to choose individual mix channels and parameters, use the row of buttons below the soft
buttons (i think. i don't have it in front of me) to select the mix channel/instrument, and use the soft
button for program to select which patch corresponds. you'll then need to set which mix channel
uses which midi channel, which output it uses, whether or not it sends midi and receives it, and so
on. rezo posted some good information on this a month or so ago, so check the archives and
search on "rezo" as the sender.
