Note: Currently the envelopes do not have MIDI sync. Just something to keep in mind.

5.5 using the envelope shapes:

Remember that whenever you are setting the time of any envelope stage, soft knob 5
controls the shape for each stage. This is important for determining the overall quality of the
sound!
In general, " logarithmic" envelopes have a more analog feel to them akin to the classic Moog
sounds. They rise or fall quickly at first, then decay towards the top end slowly. Linear
attacks and decays, however, have their place, especially in imitating a more digital
instrument. I' ve found " exponential" curves nice for slower sounds, or for placing after a log
attack in the decay stage. The S-Curves are nice for special effects.

5.6 turning off an envelope stage:

To turn off any envelope stage, simply turn the knob all the way to the left. This will only
turn off stages with a light in front of it: decay 1, decay 2, sustain, and release 1. Release 2
(even if on hold) and the attack are required.

5.7 bipolar envelopes:

1 (hardwired to pitch) and 2 (hardwired to filter). #3 (the VCA envelope) is not bipolar.

5.8 setting legato envelopes (ala minimoog glide):

Dynamics page, soft pot 1. Legato works best in kybd mono mode.

5.9 increasing envelope attack with velocity:

This is a fun technique to do that is one of the advantages of having a good modulation
system. Simply assign one of the modulations in an envelope. Set it up so that the attack of
the envelope is modulated positively by the velocity. Give your velocity-laden patches a
kick!

5.10 setting up random panning:

What I do: I turn the Sample and Hold section on, with voice random, and level 100.
However, I turn the VOXTRG on and the TRGSMP on as well. This means that the sample
and hold will sample one position, and hold it there, for one note.
The VOICE MIX modulation then gets the S&H modulation to the pan control. I typically set
the modulation around 30, with the offset at – 3 0 . Another suggestion was to use 100 on the
S&H modulation with the offset at – 4 5 .
Another way of doing panning that is cool, is to use the VOX KEY NUMBER to pan the
sound.
Brian Kehew' s guide:
Most of the patches I made us this. What I like is one "position" per Voice played, rather than
moving notes (both possible). Check the Panning section - it would be modulated by the S/H
section. Observe the settings for Amount and Offset. Then, go to S/H and copy the settings
ESPECIALLY the TRIG section. Sorry not to be more specific with values, but my A6 is not in front
of me. I'm pretty sure it's:
Panning - Mod Source = (S/Hold) Amount= (100) Offset= (-40)
S/Hold section: Mod Source = (Voice Random)
All three TRIG Modes are ON ON ON on the right.
