imagine a modular system where you can set patchcords.. examples?? thats easy: you want an lfo
moding filter 1 and another lfo and the ribbon control filter 2. well thats done by mods.. simply hit the
mod button at the filter you want to mod, set the source (lfo) , the amount (how much do you want it
to be modded??) and thats it.. if you switch that mod button of the routing is temp. off enabling it
again makes the filter again lfo controllable..

The A6 isnt as intuitive to *me* as I thought it would be. How the hell do I get the ribbon to control
say Filter 2 Frequency?. Im pressing ribbon then getting frustrated as hell in this csource stuff etc.
If someone could post a button by button guide to do this then that would be a nice start for me.
All modulations in the A6 (except for a couple of the hard-wired ones, like pitch wheel -> VCO1 &
VCO2 frequencies) are set at the **destination** (very important A6 concept!). The Ribbon button
(like the mod wheel button) will get you to CROUTEs, but NOT to MODs. So if you want the ribbon
to control the VCF2 frequency, you'd hit one of the three VCF2 MOD buttons, select ribbon
controller as source, frequency as destination, activate the source, then adjust level & offset to
taste.
A majority of the presets already have ribbon control over the VCF frequencies, usually via MOD1.
Try calling up any preset that has the MOD1 light turned on, then push the MOD1 button to see
what the modulation source is.
If you haven't been using the MOD buttons extensively, you should immediately rectify that situation
- that's where most of the "power" of the A6 is located ...
6.2 modulation tutorial 101:
from using_a6_public document
1. Mod buttons act like mouse clicks on a Mac; once will select the Mod path and a quick
second press will Enable the path. To Disable a Mod (from another page or module),
double-click on it.
2. To use a Mod: double-click it to Enable the route, scroll through the Mod Source List and
select a modulator, give it a Level, and select a Destination. Destinations are particular to
whatever module you have selected to mod. You cannot mod the filter from an oscillator
mod route, for example.
