Also, be sure to visit Radio Shack, as it is likely that retailer would carry knobs with aluminum inlay.

Experiment a little bit with this. I tried an electrix knob in place of an Andy one (being that its a
metal shell) and it looked and fit pretty good, a little too long though, fully seated would scrape the
surface of the Andy... but I'm going to consider rubber coated replacements for mine should I ever
lose any. I'll report any good replacements if I find them.
When can we expect Alesis to have spare knobs available?
Try Radio Shack or an electronics component distributer, such as Newark Electronics.

Newark publishes a large, free catalog, something they have done for decades. I have a recent
copy that two years old. It is 1,700 pages long. I looked in the index and found the pages that
reference "knobs". There is a good selection of plastic knobs with aluminum inlays. Illustrations are
included.
You might get lucky and find the exact replacement. If not, you will at least find something that
complements the instrument very well and will work as a substitute.

22.30 speeding up patch naming:

From Rob Wallace:
Little tip to speed up naming patches :
Select patch/when you have finished editing Go: STORE > NAME
Move the cursor under the first letter Grab Soft Knob 7 (NAMES) and turn it full clockwise HEY
PRESTO ! A blank screen ready to enter your characters
From BrianK:
I usually look for one of the "preset" words that shares a bunch of the letter I need: If I want the word
"monastery", I start with the word "moon" - saves a couple of letters each time.

22.31 run out of things to do?

Some hints from BrianK:
1. Has anyone made sequences that control things BESIDES notes and triggering envelopes? The
A6 allows you to route the Seq levels anywhere, like an old analog modular... (Mix levels, LFO
speeds, Seq Clock tempo, Decay times, etc)
2. Has anyone tried feeding the output (with long reverb or delays or ?) back into one of the Audio
Inputs?
3. How about doing patches with the Filters BYPASSED for clarity and punch.
4. How about a Multi Patch where one note held down pans around in stereo and is followed by
delayed notes chasing it...
5. Has anyone done subtle random pitch change, random LFO speeds, and random tone settings
to mimic the qualities of REAL instruments and Mellotron Chamberlin type stuff... what settings
work well?
