This is a rotary axis unit exclusively for the MDX-650A/650. By adding an axis of rotation (A axis) to the three X, Y, and Z axes, it makes
it simple to achieve multiple-surface cutting. Until now, double-sided cutting required precise positioning of the front and back surfaces,
but using the this unit lets you carry out troublesome operations such as changing the front and back surfaces with ease.
When the rotary axis unit is installed, you can carry out simultaneous three-axis control for the X, Y, and Z axes or the X, Z, and A axes.
(The A and Y axes do not operate simultaneously. Simultaneous four-axis operation of the X, Y, Z, and A axes is not possible.) You can
easily switch between the A and Y axes using commands or the operation panel.
The A axis has a positioning range of 0 to 1,080 degrees (three full turns). It cannot be rotated continuously, like a lathe.
The rotary axis unit is suited to cutting resins such as chemical wood and modeling wax. It is not suitable for cutting metal.
