5.26.3 Low Birth Weight Harness Shortening Routing Continued
16. From the top side pull harness end loop to pull
excess webbing from bottom side.
17. Grasp both sides of harness end loops and pull up
to equalize the harness length.
18. Ensure the harness end loops are the same length.
19. If harness length is not equal, pull webbing from
long side of webbing to equalize length.

20. Place seat fabric on shell threading
harness end loops through the inner
most slots on the bottom seat fabric
(Fig. 73a).
21. Thread buckle through the seat fabric.

22. Lower adjutable headrest to position 3
(lowest) (Fig. 74a).
NOTE: Adjusting to position 3 will
align shoulder slots 1 and 2 in the seat
fabric to shoulder position 1 and 2 in
car seat back.
23. Install seat fabric insert. Thread
harness through inner slots on insert
seat bottom (Fig. 74b).
Seat fabric insert use is not required.
24. Insert buckle tongue into crotch buckle
on child's left side (Fig. 74c).
25. Feed harness end loop from the back
side of the buckle tongues (Fig. 74c).
26. Feed chest clip through harness end
loops on child's left side.
27. Pull up on webbing end loops to
ensure the webbing end loops
are equalized.
28. If using harness slots 1 on shell the
harness must be threaded to the
shoulder slot on the seat fabric insert
(Fig. 74d).
