Safety information
Residual risks when using the device:
¾ Even when the power tool is used properly, there
will always be certain residual risks which cannot
be excluded.
• Contact with the unprotected saw chain (cut
injury)
• Ejection of parts of the chainsaw
• Ejection of parts of the cut material
• Damage to hearing
• Inhalation of particles of cut material
• Contact with oil
It is therefore mandatory to use this chainsaw
always with the additional personal protective
equipment, as illustrated and described in these
instructions for use, and to follow the safety
instructions.
Protection of yourself and others
¾ Do not let persons under the age of 18 or who
are unfamiliar with these usage instructions
use the device. The minimum age of users may
be defined by local or national legislation.
¾ Do not operate the device if there are people
(especially children) or animals in immediate
proximity. Ensure children do not play with the
tool.
¾ Stop using the device if persons (especially
children) or animals are nearby.
¾ This device must not be used by children or
persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or with inadequate experi-
ence and knowledge. Likewise persons must
be familiar with this instruction manual before
using the device. The minimum age for using
the device may be specified by local or national
legislation.
¾ Only switch the motor on if your feet and
hands are at a safe distance from the cutting
element.
¾ Always disconnect the device from the power
supply if you are leaving it unattended or
removing a blockage.
¾ Always wear slip-resistant shoes and long
trousers as well as other appropriate personal
protective equipment (protective goggles,
hearing protection, protective gloves, head
protection cut-resistant trousers, cut-resist-
ant jacket, etc.) when working with or on the
chainsaw. Wearing personal protective equip-
ment reduces the risk of injuries. Do not wear
loose clothing, etc. which could be caught by the
cutting tool.
Safety information
Before use
¾ Before use, make sure you are familiar with
the tool, its functions and operating elements.
¾ Do not use any tool whose switch is defective
and which can no longer be switched on or
off. It must be repaired by a qualified expert or
workshop.
¾ Never use a device with damaged or missing
guards or covers. They must be repaired or
replaced by a qualified expert or workshop.
¾ Before making adjustments to the device or
cleaning it, switch it off and remove the power
pack.
¾ Ensure that the tool is fully assembled ac-
cording to the instructions.
¾ Check the tool for fault-free operation, espe-
cially that the cutting bar is correctly seated
and the chain correctly tensioned.
¾ Check the tool for damage before every use
or after a shock or impact. The tool must be re-
paired by a specialist workshop before it is placed
in service again.
¾ Do not switch on the power tool unless the
chain brake and operating switch are in work-
ing order.
