M/E Block

6-2-1.
MIX-57 Board (XVS-8000, XKS-8210)
The 48-channel SDI signals from the cross point block are input to the M/E block of the XVS-8000, and video signal
processing is performed.
The processed signals are sent back to the cross point circuit as16 output SDI signals. SDI signals are sent to and received
from the DVP board through the cross point block.
The MIX-57 board consists of the following blocks.
• SDI input/output circuit
• Key process circuit
• Wipe signal generator
• Mixer circuit
• Resizer circuit
The MIX-57 board is controlled by the local CPU module (CPU-DP) on the board.
SDI input/output circuit: IC201, 401, 402
This block converts the SDI signal sent from the cross point block to parallel signal, and sends the parallel signal to the
key process block and the mixer block.
This block eliminates phase differences of input signals and performs signal selection and video processing (including
video level adjustment for each input).
Furthermore, this block converts the signal sent from the mixer block to SDI signal, and sends the SDI signal to the
cross point block.
Key process circuit: IC401, 402
Based on the signals sent from the SDI input circuit, signals sent through the mixer, and signals sent from the wipe signal
generator, the key process circuit performs key processing for the Luminance Key, Linear Key, Chroma key, etc. and
mask processing, and then sends processed signals to the mixer.
Wipe signal generator: IC202
This block generates the wipe signal, and sends it to the mixer block and the key process block.
Mixer circuit: IC201
The mixer circuit combines the signal sent directly from the SDI input/output circuit, the KEY signal sent from the key
process circuit, the wipe signal sent from the wipe signal generator, and generates output signals of M/E and P/P.
To apply the DME effect, the target signal is output from the mixer circuit and is sent to the crosspoint block. The signal
to which effect was applied returns again to the mixer block through the DVP board, and is then combined with other
signals.
Furthermore, this mixer has functions to send video and key signals to the resizer circuit as a simple DME function and
to receive return video and key signals from the resizer circuit.
