10. Do a spark test. Refer to
26 . If there is no spark, the ignition module is
damaged and must be replaced.
6.11.5 To do a test of the stop switch
1. Remove the stop switch. Refer to
install the stop switch on page 36 .
2. Connect a multimeter between the connection points
on the stop switch.
a) The ohmmeter must show more than 1000 Ω
with the stop switch in the stop position. Replace
the stop switch if the resistance is less than 1000
Ω.
b) The ohmmeter must show more than 0.1 Ω with
the stop switch in the start position. Replace the
stop switch if the resistance is less than 0.1 Ω.
6.11.6 To remove and install the ignition module
1. Remove the shaft. Refer to
the shaft on page 23 .
2. Remove the cylinder cover. Refer to
install the air filter cover, the muffler cover and the
cylinder cover on page 14 .
3. Disconnect the spark plug cable from the spark plug.
4. Disconnect the cable.
5. Remove the 2 screws (A), the cable (B), the ignition
module (C) and the 2 spacers (D).

6. Install in the opposite sequence. Make sure that the
air gap is correct. Refer to
page 26 .

6.12 Cylinder and piston

6.12.1 To disassemble and assemble the cylinder
and piston
1. Remove the starter. Refer to
the starter unit on page 14 .
2. Remove the air filter cover, muffler cover and
cylinder cover. Refer to
filter cover, the muffler cover and the cylinder cover
on page 14
3. Remove the muffler. Refer to
the muffler on page 17
4. Remove the air filter and carburetor. Refer to
remove and install the carburetor on page 18
5. Remove the heat insulator. Refer to
install the heat insulator on page 23
6. Remove the ignition module. Refer to
and install the ignition module on page 28 .
7. Remove the spark plug. Refer to
install the spark plug on page 26 .
8. Remove the 2 screws (A) and the top heat shield
(B).
