WORKING TECHNIQUES General working instructions Always hold the machine with both hands. Hold the machine on the right side of your body. IMPORTANT! This section describes the basic safety precautions for working with brush cutters and trimmers. If you encounter a situation where you are uncertain how to proceed you should ask an expert.
WORKING TECHNIQUES Basic working techniques • Let the support cup rest lightly against the ground. It is used to protect the blade from hitting the ground. Always slow the engine to idle speed after each working • Reduce the risk of material wrapping around the blade operation.
Page 22
WORKING TECHNIQUES Cutting • The trimmer is ideal for cutting grass that is difficult to reach using a normal lawn mower. Keep the cord parallel to the ground when cutting. Avoid pressing the trimmer head against the ground as this can ruin the lawn and damage the tool.
Basic setting • The basic carburettor settings are adjusted during Your Husqvarna product has been designed and testing at the factory. The basic setting is richer than manufactured to specifications that reduce harmful the optimal setting and should be maintained for the emissions.
MAINTENANCE Adjusting the start throttle speed cause fire if directed against dry and combustible material. The correct start throttle speed is set by means of an adjuster on the rear of the handle next to the cable. Use this screw (4 mm Allen screw) to increase or decrease the start throttle speed.
MAINTENANCE Cooling system spark plug should be replaced after about a month in operation or earlier if necessary. 0,65 To keep the working temperature as low as possible the machine is equipped with a cooling system. CAUTION! Always use the recommended spark plug type! Use of the wrong spark plug can damage the piston/ cylinder.
However, before using the machine you should check that the bevel gear is filled three-quarters full with grease. Use HUSQVARNA special grease. The grease in the bevel gear does not normally need to be changed except if repairs are carried out.
MAINTENANCE Maintenance schedule The following is a list of the maintenance steps that must be performed on the machine. Most of the items are described in the Maintenance section. The user must only carry out the maintenance and service work described in this Operator's Manual.
