Installing software updates

When you reinstall or upgrade system software (for example, to a new version number), you
must reinstall software updates. You can install software patches with System Updates or
Configure.
Reinstalling system software
After you reinstall system software, you must also reinstall previously installed patches. For a
list of previously installed patches, see the Configuration page you printed before you
reinstalled system software.
Upgrading system software
Do not assume that the software updates listed on the Configuration page are required for an
upgrade. You must contact your authorized service/support center for a list of required
software updates. If you install a software patch that is not required for an upgrade, the system
may be corrupted.

O DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE PATCHES
1 Connect your client computer to the same network as the imagePASS, and open a Web
browser.
2 In the URL field of the browser, type the IP address or server name of the imagePASS, and
press Enter to start WebTools.
3 Click the Configure > Launch Configure.
4 Click Server > System Updates.
5 Select Enable System Updates and click Apply.

System software installation error messages

If an error message displays when you install, reinstall, or upgrade system software, do the
following:
• If prompted, save the log.
• If you are not prompted to save the log, record the error message.
If you cannot correct the error, contact your authorized service/support center. A log or error
message may help to solve the problem. Provide as much specific information as possible.
