Fitting the towing eye

Take out the towing eye that is located
under the floor hatch in the cargo area.

For the V70: Press the marked edge of
the cover into the bumper and release.
Fold aside the cover and screw in the
towing eye firmly, right in up to the
flange.
For the XC70: Release the bottom edge
of the cover on the bumper with a screw-
driver or coin. Screw in the towing eye
firmly, right in up to the flange.
Use the wheel wrench to tighten the
towing eye.
NOTE
On certain cars with fitted towbar the tow-
ing eye cannot be secured in the rear
mounting. In which case, secure the tow
rope in the towbar.

towbar's towball in the car, see page 179.
